Hot Shop Heroes is part of the Museum of Glass in Tacoma, Washington and is a Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Art Therapy Program created by Dale Chihuly, a well-known American glass sculptor. Glass Poppies will be on display for the first part of 2018 at the Museum of Glass and then at the Denver Botanic Gardens from October through November 11th, 2018 at which time they will be available for collection.
Own a piece of Veteran history for $350 and support the Capital Campaign project for the VFW Post 1. Each flower is made by a team of four Veterans who are participating in the Hot Shop Heroes program.
April 6, 2017 is the 100th anniversary that the US entered WWI and Nov 11, 2018 is the 100th anniversary of the Armistice. To commemorate this once in a lifetime moment, Post 1 is proud to present a limited edition Columbine Remembrance Flower. Each flower with have a unique name from one of the 1,290 Coloradans that gave their lives in WWI Europe.
Each flower is handcrafted by glass artist Cory Silverman from The Furnace whose father served in the US Army. Due to the unique artistry the flowers will be handmade in batches of ten and then mailed out or be available for pick up at VFW Post 1 in Denver.
